To Sell or Not To Sell?
June 5th, 2007 3:42 PM
A question I have been asked by several potential home sellers in the past couple of weeks is "Do we sell this Summer "07" or Summer of "08""? These questions are then followed up by "Will the real estate market be back to normal within twelve months?" My answer to any potential home seller is if you are thinking of selling and will have to sell within the next twelve months, this may be the best time to do so. In my professional opinion, the metro detroit market at best in one year from now will be at the same if not a little more depreciated. In a market where really know one is quite sure what is happening with the the automotive industry, job market, the state economy and more, this may be a good time to put your home up. The average home sale today is taking anywhere from two to six months and it is always better to have a jump on your plans since if you are planning on buying here after you sell, you will clearly have no issue trying to find a great bargain and a seller willing to meet your terms and time frame.
